Sports Supports was founded with the vision
to close the gap between psychology and sport.
Sports Supports provide clients with an opportunity to reach their potential through psychological support that is founded through on the ground experience in sport. Unlike our competitors, Sports Supports utilises the unique approach that pain is subjective, wrapped up around judgement and mental blocks, separating us from our potential. Grant and Christie’s years of experience creates an environment which allows clients to form trust in the process and ultimately achieve their goals.
Grant commenced his career in sport as an athlete, racing professionally across the globe over a ten year period. Upon retirement from racing, Grant established his own coaching business, developing the current crop of Australia’s most successful professional triathletes, including the current Ironman 70.3 World Champion. Grant’s interest and additional study in ego psychology uncovered his real passion, being the matter between the ears.
Grant is a clinical hypnotherapist and strategic psychotherapist, registered with the Australian Hypnotherapy Association. With a deep interest in the human condition, alongside a passion for and lifetime of experience in sport, Grant combines his skills to help athletes reach their potential by going far beyond the physical. Grant believes we are capable of far more than any of us realise and that as both athletes and humans, we suffer way more than we need to.
Grant is available for individual consultations via our virtual meeting rooms, designs and leads our webinar programs, and hosts seminars and workshops for sporting organisations and corporate groups.
Christie began her sporting career competing at the top level in the grueling sport of adventure racing and olympic mountain cross country bike, before transitioning across to triathlon where she raced professionally over a five year period. Through her own personal experience Christie developed an interest in psychology and began studying at the post graduate level, along with additional courses in ego psychology, and now hypnotherapy and psychotherapy.
Christie has experienced first hand the effects that disorded eating, poor self esteem and self sabotage can have on an athletic career, and is passionate about sharing her experiences with those that it may help.
Christie is also a successful entrepreneur, a qualified accountant, and combines this with her knowledge from her own racing experience to assist Grant in facilitating Sports Supports webinar programs and workshops.
